8 second LSX pickup walks all over 1000HP Supra

This is one cool truck. This smooth, short-cab firetruck was made for drag racing, and can pull eight-second runs all day. And now, it faces its toughest challenge: a Toyota Supra with 1,000 horsepower.

Guess what? Against a sleek Japanese sports car, it wins—handily.

At the track, it runs an 8.84-second quarter-mile, at a blisteringly quick 163mph. Despite all of the Supra’s menace, it can only muster a low 9-second time (even though it finishes at 166mph).

One commenter claims that the truck has 1,500 horsepower to the rear wheels. Whether that’s true or not, if that’s what it takes to beat that fearsome Supra, then we’re inclined to believe it. After all, it’s not easy to run 8s when your truck has the aerodynamic properties of a brick, and not just the color.
