Twin-turbo Malibu scorches the dragstrip with 3,500 horsepower
Racing
Possibly the world’s most powerful Chevy Malibu, this mean blue twin-turbo drag beast scorched through the eighth mile in a tick over 4 seconds. By the end, it was hustling at nearly 200 mph. But with 3,500 horsepower, that should be no surprise.
How does it produce so much power? Easy. It features a big-block 548ci engine built by Nelson Racing Engines, with twin Garrett GTX 98mm turbos. A 2-speed TH400 automatic by M&M Transmissions puts all that power down.
On radial tires, its best 1/8th mile time was 4.20 seconds at 190mph.
After witnessing its drag-racing highlights, watch the mean Malibu race a bright green Camaro near the end of the video. It blows it out of the proverbial water. No surprise there. There’s not many cars it can’t beat.
