850-horsepower Chevy truck does “vicious” burnouts

850-horsepower Chevy truck does “vicious” burnouts

Another wonderful creation from the geniuses at Nelson Racing Engines, this black-on-black Chevy pickup looks like one of the 454 SS trucks from 1990. But what’s this—that’s a 640 SS on the tailgate.

Yep, that’s 632 cubic inches in this big-block Chevy, which Nelson dubs the “Warrior” series. On pump gas, it churns out 850 horsepower. “Nasty little sucker,” says Tom Nelson, the owner of NRE, who takes this truck out for a spin around town—and the inevitable cacophony of burnouts ensues.

And it does sound nasty. Not bad on a truck that looks stock—and to those who know, it already looks mean enough.
