Turbo Camaro breaks the eight-second barrier

Turbo Camaro breaks the eight-second barrier

Watch this 1,100-horsepower Camaro take on all comers at Muncie Dragway. With a 6.0-liter “truck motor” and a genuine six-speed manual, it’s quite a car to watch.

According to our friends at 1320video, it broke the GM six-speed record with a pass of 8.63 seconds at 158 miles per hour. In this run, it defeated a Corvette ZR-1 claimed to be the “world’s quickest.”

But with a 1/4-mile run over a second faster, Camaro fans will be happy to know that their world’s quickest is, well, more so.
