500HP “Psycho” Syclone Hillclimber

500HP “Psycho” Syclone Hillclimber

The team at /DRIVE have tested some very cool, very fast cars over the past few years, and to end their fourth season of the “Tuned” channel, they picked one of the baddest truck builds around.

Host Matt Farah got behind the wheel of Adam Auerbach’s GMC Syclone Hillclimber, and comes to the conclusion that this truck is what his show “Tuned” is all about; customized in every way possible, 100% function with form following suit. It’s nasty, dirty, evil, and perfect.

In 1991, the all-wheel drive GMC Syclone sport truck was the fastest accelerating vehicle you could buy. In stock form it came with a 280 HP turbo V6, and guys like Auerbach felt this was the perfect platform for tuning.

To created this 500 HP canyon-carving beast, Adam bored and stroked the stock powerplant, swapped out the original turbocharger for one by precision turbo, and ditched the 4-speed slushbox for a beefed up manual transmission.

Turn up your speakers and hear this nasty truck roar in the video above.
