Ford vs. Chevy rivalry hinges on the tailgate

America’s greatest automotive rivalry is about to get very specific.

Trucks are becoming more refined, and new added features are going from head to tail—so there’s even innovation to be found back there, as salesman Mike Davenport of Louisville, Kentucky’s Bachman Chevrolet demonstrates.

Laugh if you will, but this is vital information for truck buyers. Which works better: Chevy’s bumper cutouts, or Ford’s “man step?” (Davenport found issues with the man step potentially collecting debris.) But being a Chevy guy (and also trying to sell the dang things), he gave high praise to the Silverado, and its excellent, grippy bed.

Overall, this is a pretty smart video for a thing overlooked by most truck buyers, but never most truck users.
