2016 Camaro SS takes on the Green Hell

Chevy delighted us this week revealing official performance specs for the 2016 Camaro SS. Today the good fortune continues for Camaro fans as our new favorite youtuber has just uploaded a clip of the new SS-er putting in a few laps at the Nurburgring, chasing a 5th-gen Z/28 around for good measure.

As noted by the team at Jalopnik, Chevrolet’s back-to-basics plan of adding power and removing weight seems to be working, as the new 455 HP 6.2-liter V8 SS can sprint from zero to 60 MPH in just four seconds when equipped with the 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. They go on to note if you want to change your own gears add 0.3 seconds to that still stupid-fast number.

We’re not sure if Chevy was out looking to record an official lap time or just finishing some final testing, but regardless the Garnet Red beauty looks and sounds menacing on the Ring.

The new 2016 Camaro will be waiting for your inspection at showrooms nationwide in just a few weeks time.
