Try Not To Cringe As This New Camaro Gets Smashed To Oblivion

Try Not To Cringe As This New Camaro Gets Smashed To Oblivion

The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety recently put America’s top muscle cars through the crash test wringer, more specifically the 40-mph small overlap test. All the cars did okay. But the Dodge Challenger fared the worst.

The best? The Ford Mustang, which received a “Good” designation, and the closest to a Top Safety Pick.

How did the Chevrolet Camaro fare? It was thoroughly midpack, and it scored an Acceptable rating. “The Camaro fell short in one category, along with lacking an available front crash prevention system,” says Autoevolution. The Challenger was deemed “Marginal,” trapping the crash-test dummy in the car. At least the Camaro didn’t do that bad. Even if you want a Camaro solely because of the horsepower, it’s good to know about these things.
