Magnuson tests a supercharged Silverado against stock

Magnuson superchargers are beloved by plenty in the car community. They’re a sure-fire, tested and proven way to add horsepower. But just how much faster is a Magnuson supercharged Silverado?

For reasons related to scientific inquiry, as well as potential commerce, Magnuson put up this video on its official Youtube channel, testing a pair of Silverados—one with their supercharger, the other without. Both are 5.3-liter V8 models with the L83 package.

Yes, the supercharger is faster, but it takes a while to really make itself noticed. The supercharged driver still manages to wave his arm out the window.

As a result, some commenters are crying foul: one pointed out the off-road tires on the stock truck, making it perform far below its capacity on pavement. Others aren’t impressed with the results: “I was expecting the boosted truck to smoke the stock truck.”

Watch the video and judge for yourself.
