As black as Johnny Cash’s wardrobe, Ralph Hardesty’s 1967 Chevy II thrilled crowds at the Maryland International Raceway World Cup Finals, finishing the quarter-mile at 6.89 seconds. Its trap speed? Over 200 miles per hour.

We love a good drag race as much as anyone else, and this result is blisteringly quick. Although Hardest’s car lost to the Pontiac G6 Extreme car next to it, it’s still no small feat for a 40-year old car.
