Vintage 1,000-hp Twin-Turbo GMC Is a Glorious Garage-Built Beast

Even with the hood off, it’s hard to imagine this classic 1964 GMC C10 is packing a thousand horsepower.

The truck cost builder Loren Sharrard a mere $600 on Craigslist. It is proudly and defiantly garage-built, and took him a mere year and a half to do so. A 6.2-liter Chevy LS3 is fed by twin BorgWarner 63mm turbos, and a custom exhaust manifold and 92mm throttle body handle the rest.

At first, it was churning out 1,200 horsepower. So Loren detuned it. At 650 horsepower for his daily-driving needs, it’s still capable of mighty burnouts. Read about the whole thing here, right after you’re getting your mind blown.
